We provide a detailed construction schedule with all your required decisions and the dates these decisions need to be made to keep your project on track. We review this schedule with you regularly and keep you notified of upcoming decision dates. While we provide input on design decisions when requested, many of our clients also choose to work with a local interior designer. Clients who do this tell us that the experience was invaluable in alleviating the stresses involved in having to make as many decisions as is required when building a home.

No. Although we welcome clients who have completed plans, if they have not started this process, we are very experienced with connecting our clients to a design team that best suits their needs, both from a style and budget perspective. Having Ritchie engaged throughout the design process allows us to provide costing and value engineering design assistance. This can help maximize your wishlist while keeping within the established budget parameters of your project.

The cost varies significantly depending on the site location, servicing requirements, architectural style, and quality of finishes. From our first meeting with you through to the completion of your home, we believe in a transparent relationship with our clients where we keep you continuously informed about costs related to your home. We believe providing detailed and timely information to clients is imperative for clients to make informed decisions regarding their building budget.

While we work with clients in all stages of construction, our strength is in ‘design assist’ where we are involved in the early stages of planning by working directly with an architect or designer to determine the best way to achieve everything on a client’s wish list. By having us on board right from the beginning, our clients have a better experience since we represent their best interest every step of the way. As a premium contractor, we connect our clients with top architects, designers, and planners. We have strong affiliations with local suppliers and building officials, and we can introduce our clients to the right people to ensure that their home is built exactly the way they want.

Yes, some of our clients choose to work with an interior designer when designing and building their home and we help to facilitate this process. Working with an interior designer can be extremely useful in the building phase of a project when it comes to making decisions regarding finishing selections, floor plan flow, lighting placement and fixtures, millwork, and much more.

Not at all. We are more than happy to meet with you and provide building consultation on prospective lots you may be considering. We can help provide information on costs related to building on specific lots, servicing requirements, and how complex it might be to build on a given lot.

The length of construction will vary depending on the size and complexity of the design, however, on average it takes 12 months to build a home.

Not at all, in fact many of our clients live out of town and out of province. We maintain regular communication with all our clients in the way of face-to-face meetings, phone calls, emails, and web based technology. We send clients photographs regularly (at least 2-3 times a week) of different stages of their building process. We’re excited about the progression of your project and want to share that excitement with you, even if you can’t be here to see each stage in person.
